so my friend needs help with his permalinks...he has a blog page: Threat Journal | Delivering threat information as if lives were at risk… but none of his blog posts links actually go to the blog post. it redirects to some other page of his...ideas on how to fix?

    Are you sure that his permalinks are enabled? All I'm seeing are links such as "?p=7". Those are not permalinks. Have your friend go to his WordPress Admin > Settings > Permalinks, and make sure the right permalink structure is selected.

    they are selected on the default setting. does he need to change something in his .htaccess file? his is set to 666

    The site does not appear to be using "friendly names" for permalinks. Its currently using the WordPress default permalink settings (url=http://threatjournal.com/wp/?p=34)

    If you go to "Settings > Permalinks" and enter "/%postname%/" in the "Custom Structure" box, then click "Save Changes", it will rewrite all your site's URLs to a better, more search friendly format.

    Looks like the problem is solved but you are still using default links instead of custom permalinks. The above poster gave you the correct solution for better SEO links.
