What are the things i need to learn to become an website designer and website developer. I want a custom design not just wordpress,drupal,joomla. I want to learn designing, coding etc.. is there a free courses that i can go to learn web design and web development? i heard w3school. any other suggestions?

    Yeah w3schools will definitely teach you with the coding part. Do some research on CSS too.

    If you really want to, take a Dreamweaver course.

    But honestly, you better outsource that kind of work. It will take up a LOT of time.

    Unless of course you are good at it already.

    Other matters are more important IMO. re marketing.

    I used w3schools.com - bought a HTML and PHP book and learned from there. Ensure you understand CSS well aswell as it's probably in between everything to get your layout perfect. Get Free web hosting to play with a live website if possible.

      yes w3schools.com is awesome site for learning web development matters, it's a good online tuts.. from basic coding to advance.. good luck to you!

    You will have to at least learn HTML, CSS, PHP and Photoshop(for web designing). For learning PHP, try Sitepoint PHP and MySQL Novice to Ninja 5th Edition, and for HTML & CSS, try w3schools or there are plenty of books on these topics. You can use google books to preview them, or google for the eBooks.

    By the way, have you ever used any programming language or completely starting out?

      completely starting out so i dont know about CSS,HTML,PHP and difference between photoshop and html for creating a website. I saw a couple of youtube videos using photoshop and html5 or html so i don't know the difference?

    to become good Web designer and developer is not everyone cup of tea . yes w3school is good online resource to start with learning HTML / CSS with tutorial help . To become web designers and Developer you should have good knowledge to use of web design tools like Dreamweaver , Illustrator , Photoshop and skilled with programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, ASP, ColdFusion, Ruby, Pyt hon and many others .
