After learning the ropes of the Thesis Framework for about 10 months or thereabouts, I advertised a basic blog design project for $350 and I got one: PRESS CLUB NFCS, UNIZIK

I designed the entire blog (with exception to the graphics in it) but I'd like to know if there's anyway to improve it (either by addition(s) or subtraction(s) of certain features).
What do you think of the blog generally in terms of design, interface, outlook, colour combination, page speed, etc.? Please, rate with reference to 100% if you can.

I need some tough 'love' here.

    The problem I have is that the banner looks cramped and pixelated (which you didn't designed I assume?) . as for the layout looks pretty good, the colors are nice but it reminds me so much of our national flag. I would give it 92% .

      Yes, I didn't design that but based on your opinion, I'll contact the client for a redesign of the banner and the logo too. That should make it better I guess.

      Thanks for your feedback, Weboasis. In line with your feedback and Lanot's, I'll contact the client duly.

      The top menu lettering font face is actually my favourite - didn't know it's not a good one in cyberspace - I think I do need some typography lessons. Could you suggest a better one - or anyone that is in line with the cyberspace?

        Typically, I would just stick with a standard font...Arial, Tahoma, Verdana. What you have currently unfortunately just appears blurry to me. You have to take into consideration not all monitors will view it the way you see it on yours. Standard is always the safe bet rather than cool looking.

        Design is ok, but I also would suggest to change the header and logo. That should improve the design a lot. Page speed of site is good on my end.

            I am glad my suggestions helped out. And thank you for being open and receptive to others comments. I just checked out the font, much better!!

            But, I would scale down the size of the font just a bit, the letters are a little too big.

              Thanks for coming back and checking on it again, WiredToLive. I'll scale down the size of the font now - I'm actually on it. And I don't have a choice than being open and receptive to other comments if I want to get better at what I do.

    In my opinion as not a designer but visitor; I vote like these:

    - Layout: 80/100 (IMO look not contemporary)
    - Typography: 65/100 (Better to use web fonts and rollback to standard fonts)
    - Color Match: 50/100 (As some part, I can't see clearly)
    - Speed: 40/100 (For my connection)
    - Graphic: 30/100 (It's not you who design)

      Thanks a lot. I've already contacted the client for a change of banner and logo; expecting feedback from the association soonest. I'm working on the typography as we speak.

      Please, could you expatiate more on Color Match: (As some part, I can't see clearly)?

    Something like the notification on the topest of the site (background with dark blue and font color with black); another reason is the color seems not so attractive with the color of real read and dark blue. It might be better if you add a bit of color value into the lighter or darker red or blue. That's because the color is absolute red or blue, it make the site looks not contemporary. Anyways, overall it is good and just abit more tweak, it will be attractive.

    The header does need work. The black boxes where your posts go, i would give them

    padding:5px;

    It will help get rid of the 2 boxes touching each other.

      Abusschaert, sure, it really needs work and the plan is underway already.

      "The black boxes where your posts go, i would give them..." (the teaser boxes - well, I just adjusted it this morning to look like the inside layout of a book). Does it look wacky?
