Hey All,

Does anyone have any experience using Artisteer for developing custom Wordpress sites? I'm tired of coding by hand and slicing .PSDs, but it looks "too good to be true" so I'm looking for some feedback.

Also, how does Artisteer work in terms of WP upgrades and theme upgrades?

And are there any problems with the code it generates in terms of bulk, size, page loading times, etc? Its often an issue with this type of program.

I ask because I've also bee looking at Genesis, and I like the idea that Genesis provides constant updates, so you will never be out of date on a theme.

Thanks in advance.

And this one is no exception either.
Bloated code, oversized files... the usual .

Frameworks (like Genesis and the others) work better + you always have a base to start from.

Better to avoid using Artisteer because the codes are not well organized and some mixed up!

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

If you are "developing" custom sites for customers,(shaking head..) use Genesis, not Artisteer.
Even if it's for your own sites, do yourself a favor and spend the time to learn Genesis instead of the other.
The time you spend to learn them will not be that different.

"Do it for you" programs, plugins, addons, etc... sound great, but RARELY put out optimized clean coding.
It's not about being cool and using the latest cutting edge coding style/types.... it's more about accessibility, speed, and reaching a broader audience.
Mobile users are here to stay... and dammit people want speed!

As far as manual slicing psd's and such...
You should not be using that many graphics.
Many graphics people use in a website can easily be replaced with CSS3.
Even icons do not have to be images, they can be fonts.... like FontAwesome or others...

Design your site in Photoshop, by all means.... I do that myself.. but the graphics used in the site from the PSD design should end up being just a few, the rest can be done by other (faster) means.
