    Learn exactly what?

    How to write/publish a post?
    Install it?
    Customize the look/theme?

    Vague questions get no answers...

If your talking about just using wordpress then absolutely yes. If your talking about creating plugins and such, with no prior knowledge of html, php, etc, I would say no.

That's BS... "creating plugins" is NOT part of learning WP. Period.

Reminder: since you don't know what was he asking - you don't have an answer. Guessing the OP's intentions won't help.

I would suggest you stop thinking of it as a single piece of learning that can be defined in one shot.
1)Learn how to install WordPress, make a post, make a page
2)Learn your way around the dashboard
3)Ask questions about things you'd like to know how to do but can't
4)Once you've done all this (and in theory you could in less than 24hr) you'll have a better idea what you need to learn.
-manipulate a theme- html and css and a tiny bit of php
-add functionality- a stronger knowledge of php and perhaps JavaScript and JQuery.

You are still just throwing in words that you don't understand, instead of asking meaningful questions.

      1. The very fist question above was posted almost 24 hrs ago. Since then you could have installed WP many times; you could have made several posts and Pages; you could have clicked on each and every button/link inside the admin area.

      2. If you did #1 - now you would be in a way better position and you'd know what to ask. Now you are just like "throwing sh*t on the wall"... and watching what sticks.

      3. You make a site using WP or with WP... not "on WP". What kind of maintenance are you talking about? What "maintenance" means to you?

      4. Remember: the very first step in this process is to learn to ask smart questions. Dumb questions will get dumb answers - that's what they teach to young reporters

I would suggest finding tutorials on setting up WordPress like so: Create a pro Blog in 5 mins for under 6 dollars a month! | ShowMeHowToBlog.com

Once you start trying, THEN you will start learning.

WordPress is very easy to set up and work, the learning part is basically trial and error for most.

I think 7 days are too much, Wordpress is nothing to learn if you are passionate and you have little background of Devleopment (Basic)

kk Assuming you know the following:
HTML, CSS, PHP, How to install a database, How to use myphphadmin, how to create database names

If you know how to do all that then yes I say its learnable in 24 hours but thing is you'll never stop learning heh it's a big CMS platform yet the most simplest of all.

The best way to get a word press site created is to buy a template and follow the theme doc. you don't need any programming skills either. woo themes is cheap also.

Making a website without basic knowledge is not easy. The time frame which you have mentioned is quiet impossible.

Because you already said that you don't know CSS, HTML, PHP my answer is : NO.You can't learn to make a decent website with WP in just 24 hours.
Maybe you can learn how to use the basic WP functions (like adding a post, a new page and stuff like this) but you'll always need more than that if you want to make a good website.

I think the OP is just hitting an arrow in the air hoping to hit a star...I am sure he won't be back to even read the replies.

And why would you want to learn it in 24 hours? Whats the purpose ? Did you take up some work and unable to finish it now ?
