Hi everyone

I have been building sites for local biz owners for a while - but now I am venturing into mobile sites...

Now I am looking for a totally customizable mobile theme for wordpress - but one that at least has sensible size buttons

For desktop sites i use weaver II - but on mobile the menu buttons are tiny, and the code is not totally W3 valid.

yes, I know I can probably take existing themes and hack the css - but I am trying to keep the cost as low as possible, so I need to keep my time input as low as possible.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanx

pj

Are you wanting specifically a mobile optimized theme or would you be happy with a responsive theme?

    Hey PJ,

You've got a lot of options here. In facing this issue myself, I've turned to ThemeForest in the past and I can normally find something that's 70-80% built the way I want it. Since I have coding experience I'm not scared to get my fingers dirty with the stuff I buy from time to time.

I recommend you go after designers/developers that are actively supporting the products they create. Whether it be on that site, via WSO's, or anywhere else.

Also, I like to ask questions before I spend money. If I hear back with a semi-coherent response, I figure the product is worth the money in the creators mind.

    Good luck!

    Hi

    1. Ivan - your tone of voice sucks. But just to humor you, I will delete my sig file, so that will take away the "self-promotion" shit. And if you do not like my tone of voice you are welcome to have my account deleted. I do not use the WF to make money, and the links I can replace.

If you did take the time to follow the link in my sig you would have seen ALL the sites I built are in South Africa - for local, physical businesses. Not much sense in promoting that here.

    2. Peter - I am looking at creating separate, stand-alone mobile sites. As such, it might be better to use a responsive theme just for the odd person who does end up there from a desktop.

    3. Kyle - thanx a million - but while those themes are great, it is not quite what I had in mind. I was hoping to find ONE theme with a number of theme options, already sensibly laid out for mobile with "buttons for thumbs". I know a tiny bit about bit coding - but I would rather not spend time on it unless I have to.

I don't know if you are familiar with the Weaver II theme - it has a boatload of options. The only thing I really have against it is that it comes up badly on a mobile W3 check.Ideally, something similar would be great - even if I can only fiddle with colors, layouts, header and background.

The clients I am aiming for is the "entry level buyer" who "just wants to get a mobile site out there" - and since the local currency in South Africa is relatively weak (almost 9 ZAR to the USD), buying a new theme for every client is not going to help keep the price down.

    thanx
