Hey guys,

Checkout this page on a website I'm working on for a client...

Tour | JBeachHouse

The content and pictures were provided by the client, I need to organize them in a nice and neat fashion.

Is there anything you would suggest doing to make this page look better in terms of formatting, placement, etc?

It just looks too awkward to me.

Any plugins that help with wordpress formatting?

Thanks!

JT

    Hey JT,

If I were you and design this website I would change font for content, it's unreadable.

Add some CSS to the images, like border, and organize this text and images better on tour page.

    Besides, really nice website (:

Yea, change the font and maybe add big picture on background like this
Add favicon as well and maybe use more unique social media icons to fit the theme of your site, found some:

You obviously don't understand typography, so you shouldn't mess with the fonts... here as well as in your other thread the links show a very poorly designed typography with fonts very difficult to read.

Messing with fonts doesn't necessarily means you are "improving" that site. Most theme designers have some basic understanding of proportions, fonts, usability etc. - all basic notions of design (not only on the web).

You should stick to adding images and setting up pages.
And definitely do NOT listen to the smartguy above: besides pimping his signature link he doesn't have anything to add, only BS...

      Hello,

For starters I would change the font for the content text to something like Segoe UI. You may still want to use more creative fonts for headers, section titles, etc. but make sure all text is clear and legible.

      Segoe UI

I agree with most comments, your font selection is not the cleanest nor the easiest on the eyes. It would force me to search for another site.

I would create and add a favicon.

I would make the logo larger and more integrated into the design. The logo is a little small and doesn't have an impact. It tarnishes the brand used as is.

I would re-order the images and content to have more of a consistent and parallel flow. If you want to stagger the images and text in a tile format, great, but make sure the spacing and positioning is rather even to avoid looking like an abstract painting with big blocks of white space that add scrolling for no reason. Maybe this is where you use a JQuery plugin to better use your space and rotate or slide more than one image of each room in a single space (this way one place holds multiple images, helping to solve your white space issue).

The background comment is good too because a sun or some clouds or something graphical that ties into your business will add to the design. A challenge with the site is it doesn't pop, and the biggest challenge is the use of space (too much white space) along with the current font used for content.

These few changes will add a lot. Hope this helps.

I see many suggestions to your site, but it seems that you need only the customization for the content of this page.

    - Your images should not attach with the Wordpress Image Attache Function because when visitors click on the images, they will be lead to another image attached post. Again, they need to click on the image to see the full size; it's not good for user interactivity. My suggestion is you should leave theme the original image link or use jQuery plugin like Lightbox to popup the images when visitor clicking them.

    - You could use gallery style to showcase each images with there respective description in the neat and clean way.

    - Alternatively, you could give more taste to the images by adding frames and caption to make image more appealing.

    - In addition, you can use grid systems/plugins to organize your content to fit with your images.

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

      Designs1,

Thank you so much for the awesome social icons, they fit the site perfectly and I love what you did w the background!!! However, what are your thoughts on using an image that large for the background? My thoughts are that using a hi def image thats extremely large will add to the site loading time which could hurt me in a couple ways. Is there a way to use that awesome background and not have the site loading time increase or it be a problem? Also where'd you get that image, its great!? Royalty free?

      Thanks Designs1, you've helped me a ton!

Thanks for the font suggestion. I really like it too! I'm going to try it out. Also I'm working on the favicon and love what you suggested with incorporating the logo into the site but with the round seal logo wonder how I could more, any thoughts?

I've never used the Jquery plugins which im researching right now, thanks for the rec!

      Run,

Thanks alot for the suggestions. I love the lightbox popup idea and I love the gallery idea. My client just has to get some more pictures for me and bigger pictures so that I can blow them up in a gallery, the ones that i have right now, they're too small. Thanks man for you suggestions and help

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and help with this. I really appreciate how everyone is always so eager and happy to help on here. You've made my day!

Hey! I just took random beach image from google so i don't have rights for it. Just wanted to show you how it could look

And about site loading time, it'll add some more but i guess not too much. If you add 1920x1080 image. You can find many great images for very low price here:

    Hi,

    Choose better fonts.
Remember there should always be a "balance" on every aspect of the design.
Try the plugin "Shortcodes Ultimate" or "Column Shortcodes"

    Hope this helps!

    Best of luck!

    Hey Jt,

Yes I agree to add some attributes to the images. Also there is a lot of white space throughout the site between different sections. If you can get a few more images and then work on scaling them properly to adjust the layout of the images and content so it eliminates some of the white space.

Besides that I like the direction you were going.

    Typography is so week mate,
Also the picture and everything is not aligned it will be better to use any premium template if you have not enough skills or if you are not interested in graphic designing.
If you wanna learn web designing the look at CSS-Tricks
    Thanks
