What seams to be the problem with this website ?

WEB DESIGN

I believe this is a presentation section. If i am mistaken the moderators may move my post and excuse me.

I would like to present 2 very simple projects for review.

1. A Simple Web directory
I made it so lite and simple that can be easily "transcribed" in people's minds.
If you see something that you dislike, feel free to post.

Its a simple php based directory without any graphics or animation.

2. Here is a video marketing website. AND HERE IS WHERE I NEED HELP.

Even though the site looks OK & minimal designed, it seams that something is missing. Does it look like it needs more atmosphere ?? A logo or something ?? Does it look cold and "faceless" ? What could i do to make it more warm ? Please write down your opinion whatever that is.

It is a plain html website with a flash play at the top, and a few graphics all over.:confused:

Oh there is a third & final project about heathrow airport hotel but since there are a lot of people behind that project, i wouldn't worry so much for the feedback. I believe its fine.

I would make OPOKS Logo just a little bigger. Try some other color for the links though. It would make the logo stand out more.

thanks vjboc but what about the increase video views ?? You feel like something is missing ? Its cold or what ?

  I think it looks fine. I wasn't crazy about the water droplets thing, but that's just me. I also think you need to change the "Launch it's views and ratings" tagline (at the very least, change it's to its). I do agree with vjboc about changing the color for the links tho. Make them a bit darker?

  Increase video news needs definition, it almost reminds me of a site where someone deleted part of the css file. I would add some color for flavor. It might just take something very simple, as a border around rotating banner.

There's something off with the video marketing website cause even though your aim is to make it look "minimal", there's no background image with subtle effects, the banner is too basic and flat, there's no emphasis in the text and the way the icons for the video networks are arranged is kind of confusing for the visitor.

there's no differentiation between the site name, banner, and content, it's like a big block of text with emphasis in nothing.

I agree with all of you guys.

vjboc and fostinWD thanks for the feedback.

I understand what you mean i just don't know what to do with it.

I 'll try an upgrade with background color, textual differences, correction of "it's", re-arrangement of table and something else that i don't know yet :/
