Wordpress behaving Strange

Hi everybody,


I have been using wordpress for 2 years now and up till now I found it amazingly efficient, but this time I am having hard time with it.

I am trying to publish a new page, but I notice the new page shows the content from the first post that I published ( till now I only have one post published).


Even though the url shows "about me" but the content from a post shows instead of the page.


I have tried posting new posts and it is working fine, but when it comes to publishing a new page something goes wrong.

    If you preview your new page does it still show the post content?

      I understand it is my WP. BTW I have no plugin activated, I am using the twenty eleven theme, & I am using hostgator for hosting.

      When I use the preview option, it just shows the heading of the page.

    It is never WordPress - in general!

    It is always your specific WP installation on your specific server/host; your theme; your plugins.

    So, unless you make sure you test it with no plugins + default theme on a host server where other WP installs/domains worked properly... nobody can help you.

    I think you know that when you create a new page you can select which template to use on that specific page.Make sure you use the same template that your other pages are using and see what happens.
    Also maybe your theme is broken.

    Could I ask if you have only one post without other contents on the site? If so, why don't you install a fresh one with latest WP version? Even it is not a good solution to do this, in your case, it will be better to spend a little bit of time to install a new one if you have nothing but a post. You will waste a lot of time if you still ask because it seems hard to figure out without seeing the codes.

    Alternatively, try adding more posts and see what happen with the page!

      Mate, this is kind of last resort for me, the reason I ask this question here is because lately I have noticed something going wrong with my wordpress blogs almost everyday.

      Sometimes one of my blog will not let me put bullet points, other times I can't put spaces between the paragraphs and now this.

      So I am a bit puzzled.

      Further what If I install a new wordpress and after around 25 posts something like this happens again.

        Believe me the issue will be happened again from various reseans. Something from the plugins or themes that you like will be cause the issue again and again because you will always using it with new installation.

        Default Wordpress won't cause any issue or strange behavior, it's just us. I have some Wordpress sites which with Hosgator which I use Twenty Eleven theme and have no issue till now about 2 years. And, the others warriors also have no issue the same.

    Here is an update:
    I have reinstalled the wordpress from scratch and now I can publish new pages, however I still can't see page preview when I click on the preview option.

    Note: I am running wordpress on the default settings (no new plugins and twenty eleven theme)
