Question about wordpress backup?

WEB DESIGN

I have a wordpress plugin that backs up my database and files and I can then download it as a zip file.

Can you please tell me I would restore the site with that zip file? Thank you.

WordPress Backup is an essential plugin for all WordPress blog administrators by the Blog Traffic Exchange. It performs regular backups of your upload (images) current theme, and plugin directories. Backup files are available for download and optionally emailed to a specified email. Don’t get caught without a recent backup of your theme or images or plugins.

For people backing up and restoring wordpress I highly recommend using this plugin,
BackupBuddy - the premiere WordPress backup plugin to backup, restore and move WordPress | iThemes

Amazing plugin, it backs up as a ZIP and then also provides you a PHP file to upload so that you can restore it again. Quite impressive.

If you want to do manual backups and do them right (or see if your plugin is doing everything), just check out the WordPress codex on "backup". The codex ("manual") explains in detail how to do manual backup and recovery correctly.

See, thats why I like Backup Buddy because you can select EXACTLY what you want it to backup. Either everything or just parts of your site including all MYsQL
