I'm looking for constructive criticism on my client's new site - Alpha Omega Probiotics Boise Idaho. Did i include all the right pages? Should there be more?? how about colors and flow?

  • Tyankee,

You have a good start here but there are a lot of issues.

Your home page has way too much stuff on it. I didn’t do a thorough check but it appears that there is content found on other pages of the site on the home page. Ideally, you don’t want that much stuff on there. No one is going to read through all of that and I see that you have some kind of form at the bottom which is a bad place for that kind of element.

Another thing I noticed was your product page. It has the huge button at the top that says buy now however it is not clear what you are buying. Are you supposed to click things to add to your cart and then scroll back up to “buy now”? It isn’t intuitive.

On your main site navigation, I would bring the logo up above the menu and have the menu ride down below. Make your social media icons smaller and move them out of the way where they are still visible but so they aren’t competing with other elements on every page.

Some of the pages have tons of content on them which is great however you need to break that up a little. When people see that much content on a page, it gives them anxiety and they are unlikely to read it all. Try breaking it up with images or something else.

    I highly recommend this book,

It is a quick read and has loads of good information on usability and the layout of websites to make them easier to use.

    Hope that helps,

I think that it flows well. Do not really care for the color you have chosen though. It looks really plain to me. I do like the top of your page very much how you can slide and click on what you want to see. Neat idea.

what do you mean by 'i think the website is charged a lot'?? do mean the product is too expensive?? and 'there is a big scrolling bar' - i didn't understand that either.
