Hey guys,
please review our automotive search engine website. Right now we simply serve inventory being sold in our local automotive market here in Montana however we build a spider to crawl dealership data that also inserts the data into our databases.

Thanks!

    Not sure about the landing page. it should have more options like autotrader.co.uk

    Looks pretty decent though, I like how clean it looks quite pleasing for the eyes.

    It looks good. It's simple and easy to understand.

    I'd think that if when a person searched for a car and then clicked a link in the results, in the detail view for the car, there could be a list of similar results on that page too. I'd like this instead of having to click the back button on my browser every time I wanted to see more results. At the very least, I think you should have a link back to the search results.

    Very nice advice Mojojuju, we were having a very hard time doing this since the way the search engine for wordpress works. But, we have been working at however a link back to results is a great idea. (You can also scroll up to the search bar again even on the listing pages .

    Thanks for reviewing!

      You should be able to do that (show list of search results next to a car's detail view) by using WP_Query.

      You may find out later that there will be features you want that can not be provided by the standard Wordpress search (e.g. faceting based on price, color, etc.). In that case, you might want to use Solr, which there happens to be Wordpress plugins for.

    Actually, everything you need to know to query Wordpress search is explained here: Using WP_Query to Fetch Posts in WordPress | bavotasan.com

    For the line that says:

    $featuredPosts->query('showposts=5&cat=3');

    you'd need to add '&s=ford+truck' (or whatever) to the query. And you can pass that information from the search page to the detail page using URL parameters. There's lots of things you can do with this and lots of fun to be had.

      It shouldn't be a problem, if that's what you're getting at.

    @KM,
    learn to use the Thanks button instead of bumping your thread every time somebody posts a sh*tty one-liner useless "review"!

    Or it will disappear...

    1. Direct to the point and simple
    2. Search is big enough to type and is good
    3. Navigation is good and easy
    4. Images used are good and appealing

    So we ended up changing the layout of the actual car delivery page, what do you guys think of this?

    We have really been trying to tweak our web pages for better lead conversions, do you think the above link works well?

    if possible make rounded corners for the small white area in blue background. It would give a little bit more appeal
