    That's asking for a lawsuit If the developer isn't the one hosting the site, same goes for the domain. Better hope the client doesn't have deep pockets, good luck with that.

    It might now be legal to all states (or at all). It's a pretty ballsy move for the designer but not that wise though..

    i think it's the good thing to do and it's legal in my eyes or should be legal to do that... he made the website, css, design, graphics and all the stuffs so he have the right to cancel the website if the client didn't pay...

    Looks like self promotion... very unprofessional.

    If you don't get paid, get a lawyer.

    It's like you buy a house (bank credit), you do not pay and the bank is "decorating" the house with "nice" letters... or something
