I am running my website for last 10 months using free wordpress basic magazine theme. Some one has told me that this theme has some technical errors. This has worried me.

I am now looking into the option of buying Studiopress and customize it myself. But I do not know any coding & customization is an entirely new field for me.

Can the experts guide me how should I proceed and what should I learn to know customization.

For customization, you may want to look at StudioPress' Genesis, Catalyst Theme and Thesis Theme.

You will have to learn from their documentations or support forums.

If you want to customize a theme you must know HTML/CSS... that is generally everything you need to know.

It does not matter which theme, framework or platform you are using.

It depends how much complicated is your website.
Genesis from Studiopress can help you with that a lot because it has many widgets and sections which you can customize without knowing any coding. Also there are many plugins to install for Genesis. If is possible please provide your website URL so we can tell you exactly if you can do it yourself or not.
