Hi All,

I have been installing all the essential programs on a new laptop over the last couple of days, and finally got everything set-up and ready to upload some new sites to my servers...

I went to FileZilla and (attempted) to download the Windows client version, and everything seemed good (desktop shortcut, files, etc..)... until I attempt to open it from my desktop...

A series of error pop-ups occur reading; "error loading xml file" - when I exit the pop-up, another one appears.

Therefore, thinking I got a bad download, I uninstalled FileZilla, did a restart, and re-downloaded it again... same error occurs?

Any idea what might be causing this?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

  • Art72,

I have read of people having this issue before. Some have found that deleting the xml file queue.xml which is found in /AppData/Roaming/filezilla/, solves the issue. Be sure that when you look for this file, you have “show hidden files and folders” enabled or there is a chance you may not see it. Also, enable search in non-indexed locations if you are searching your computer for that file.

If it is another xml file that is giving you problems, take the same approach. Alternatively, you could try fixing any syntactical errors within the file however it may be easier just to delete it.

    Hope that helps you,

I can't remember if FZ has different bit versions, however if it does make sure that the software is 32 or 64 bit per your computer requirements. Also, after installing it, reboot your PC before running the EXE.

Also try running it in administrator mode, or as an admin.
