Wordpress Project Management Plugin Missing the Mark...

Hi All,

This is my first post here. I would like to thank everyone in advance for any assistance provided on my concerns with finding a Wordpress plugin to meet my needs. In the past, I have used third party project management sites to manage my teams. I now want to install a plugin on my site that will allow me to do this without having to pay a third party provider. I've listed the top benefits and must haves in no particular order:

1 - Member Privacy - I want to be able to have different team members work on the same project(s). I also want to be able to grant and/or disallow sharing of personal contact information. Communication outside of the platform I have provided my team members would occur on a limited basis at best. Access to email, phone #s and other personal information would be restricted.

2 - Page Privacy - I would like restrict public access to all pages. Member log in would be required to access pages and content.

2 - Email Notification - I would like a platform that would allow email notifications to all parties who are assigned to a particular project.

4 - Docs - It is important to be able to upload documents for sharing and collaboration.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance or consideration given.

Regards,

TRG

Well, WordPress is NOT a project management system... There is this crazy urban myth that WP is "the best" tool for everything.

Well, it isn't. It is a publishing tool. A content management system. Sometimes a blogging script. With the time, money and energy spent to tweak and twist WP to become something that it isn't... you could get running a proper system.

I firmly believe in the idea of the right tool for the right job

Find a proper project management script and install it on your server.

Ditto 100% to what Istvan stated.
WordPress is fantastic, but sometimes other products are far better suited to the task and project management is one of them.
I like Basecamp, but since you said you didn't want to pay.....
I used Collabtive very successfully for many years. It's open source and works very well.
Also look at Home | ProjectPier.org, also open source.
You will be "hard-pressed" to duplicate the full features of a large proven paid service, but there are many open source project management scripts that are far superior to even the best WordPress project management plugins.

I think Asana - Task Management for Teams is the best choice for you. Try it and feeling.

@Istvan - Thank you. Duly noted.

@David - I have tried Basecamp, albeit briefly, it did not provide the privacy I was looking for in terms of personal collaboration between team members. I have not tried any open source PMs tools. I will watch videos on YouTube and do some research on the capabilities of the few you suggested. Thanks for the feedback.

@Michael - Asana is a great resource. I have not figured out how to enhance member privacy. I am not sure if I am able to create roles within this platform as well. Granted, I have only played with this for a few minutes, it appears to not fit. I love the simplicity, look and feel of Asana but I'm not sure it will work for me. My question would be does it allow me to assign roles? Please advise and thanks.

    All the best,
