Just download the theme and provide him that. I hope that will be enough. Why he would require the account access?

I want to turn the word press menus into pages however he saids needed to contact the theme developers for support. I offered to purchase another theme for him to work on however he insisted on working on the previous name and asked for my theme forest password again. It's the deploy theme on theme Forest

WHF! Find another one. Contacting could be done on behalf of you if the the theme author only reachable through Themeforest profile. Otherwise, most themes at Themeforest has their support address.

He's not suitable for this kind of work.

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

Why would he want your TF password unless he wanted to grab some free themes for himself? The only password he should need to work on your theme is your FTP password or your WordPress admin password.

I would find a new developer if I were you. Trust me, you don't want to screw around with someone who throws up a red flag like that right from the start!

Sharing your Theme Forest password is against their terms of use anyways, so you risk getting your account closed if you get caught.

You must not allow any third party to access the Sites using your username and password and make use of the Sites on your behalf.

I suggest you to do like Brandon said, find a new developer. If he is real developer, he will know how to do it. Sounds a bit strange.
