Wordpress blog, Nothing showing up on "blog" page?

Ok I'm not sure what I've screwed up, and I may have to just reset the theme to defaults or something.

On my site's "Blog" page, It's showing what I guess is like a recent posts widget.

When I type into the text area for the page, nothing is actually showing up on that page. I did delete something out of the theme so I think that was it but I honestly can't tell you what.

Here is the link to what I'm talking about: AG Beats - The next Super Producer! : AG Beats

Right now I copy and pasted "coming soon" a bunch of times. But you don't see it on the page obviously.

I'm not sure if this is the best way to have it set up. I mean if I just leave it like this doesn't that mean people will only be able to find my "most recent" posts?

Should I just reset the theme to default and start over? If so, how do I do that?

    Hey New...

Looks to me like everything you have build so far is a page...

Seems your settings are to show a static home page and to have a separate page for the blog.

The blog page will show all your blog posts...so make a post (instead of a page) and it will show up on the blog page...

all you posts will show up on that page...

    make sense?

Not sure im following you completely, but a few things.

Do you have the page you want for your blog set under to posts page under reading?
Also, only posts will show on the blog page. Did you make it a post or a page?
You didnt save it as a draft did you?

        Sorry let me try again...

Wordpress can be a blog...that is just an ongoing series of posts...

        Or

Wordpress can be a website with static pages (just means content that never changes)

Or (and this is how I think you have it set up) It can be both...

Looks like all the links in your nav menu are pages...

        Including a blog page...

So you have it set up for both pages and a blog...which is fine...

So when you make a post...it will show up on the page you referred to in your question...why is my blog page empty...

        Do this test...

go to the wordpress admin area and make a post...not a page...a post

just name it test...and put this is a test in the content area...then publish it...

go to the blog page you referred to as empty and refresh the page in your browser...

you should see your post listed on the blog page...and every post you make from now on (up to the total you have set in the setting to show) will show on the blog page...

...then you can go back in and delete this test...

        hope this helps...

Maybe this will help...you don't post in the text area of a blog page...it is always blank....

You make a post...to your website...and the posts will show...your site right now seems to be built in pages...not posts that is why this is blank when you click on it there are no posts added yet...

    For starters...
To have a blog - you need "posts" NOT PAGES!
    Go and make posts.

    Next: > Settings > Reading
Set an existing page as 'frontpage'. Set another existing page as "posts page' (can be the one you have already: agbeats-blog. The latter one should be empty! In the Page that is set as "frontpage' > write what you want the visitors to see first when arriving to the site.

The blog posts (NOT PAGES!) will be automatically shown on the "posts page"

Ok cool, I have everything set up right my posts show up, I was just concerned that when I put something in the "blog page" page editor it wasnt showing up, but it looks like it never does anyway.

I have a static home page, set to what you see as the home page.

I have the blog page set to AG Beats Blog

When I make posts, they show up fine on the "blog page" in that widget looking thing.

So what you're all saying is it IS normal to not have anything show up when you actually put something in the content part of the "blog" page? If so then I was stressing over nothing haha.

But see, there WAS a part on the page that I deleted. I think thats where I could have typed something, or had links to categories or something.

Im just worried that people won't be able to see more than 5-10 of my "newest posts"

Is that how all blogs are? Im sorry I know I'm not wording my question very well but I'm just trying to make sure my site isn't royally messed up before I start posting all my content cause I have a lot of stuff saved up ready to go.

I guess it wouldn't matter it'd be as easy as picking a new theme then editing to taste.

I guess it looks fine to all you guys though.

Thanks much for the replies everyone.

NO. It is Not normal to have nothing show on your blog. On your actual blog page(posts page), generally speaking you will have you latest blog posts from newest to oldest. Either the full post or an excerpt of it.

When you say the widget thing, are you referring to the area on the right hand side bar? If so, that will show perhaps your latest blog post title's. But you are still suppose to see the actual posts on the main blog page.

When I go to your blog, I see nothing in the content area what soever.

To answer your original question, if you should start over.
I would say if you are unsure what you deleted and are unfamiliar with the difference between posts and pages then go and switch back to the original theme, make a few test posts to get the feel of the difference before you get to far ahead.
Also disable any plugins that may have that help manage displaying of posts if you installed any. This why go get a feel for how it is suppose to work.

No, I had a plugin that was messing up things before. If you guys go back to the blog now you should see what I mean by the widget thing. I did not mean the part on the side.

It's like a grouping of my most recent posts.

I think it's ok for now. I might have to do some tweaking later I wanna see what type of behavior this gives my visitors for a while before I go all crazy switching things again.

@Michael, that's not really going to help me. Things are showing up differently to me on my end of my site than they are to my visitors, so I'm trying to figure out whats going on. Thanks for responding though.
