Rich Snippets showing a random meta desc.

For my homepage and main keyword "ipod docking station reviews" the Google search result is showing the home page in the results but the description in rich snippets is for a page on my site and not the homepage. When you click the link you are taken to the homepage. Why the hell would a random description show in the search results out of the blue? I have checked all of my settings but I can't figure this out.

for example... it is showing the page for ipod docking station reviews but the description in the search is for Jbl Onstage????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

It's because your pages are not optimised for the meta description you want. Google picks up snippets from your on-page texts based on what they think is most relevant to the current page. You need to optimize your pages to make Google think that your manual meta description is the most relevant content for the snippet.

Yes agree with you,Rich snippets is pick the description from your on page of your website and that why this happens with you.Place suitable and appropriate description according to your main theme of the website.

The rich snippets are changing manually. I have optimized the site and the descriptions for each page. This has only happened recently. I'm starting to think it might be an issue with a plugin... maybe the gallery slider at the top of the homepage???????????/
