Can I install WordPress ONLY on a subfolder? If not, what is the alternative?

myexamplesite.com was made with just HTML...no wordpress. I had it made...I have limited HTML/CSS ability.

I would like myexamplesite.com/blog to use WordPress. How can I do that? If I can't, what other content management software could I use to manage my blog? Thanks!

Do you know anything about FTP uploading? If so, you could create a folder named "blog" and upload WordPress in that folder; or at least I think you can.

You can install WordPress in any sub-folder you like.

If your hosting provider uses Fantastico or similar, you simply define the location when you install it.

    Simple.

Not that simple, he also has to create a WP database and link it to the install...

But yes, if your host has fantastico or softaculous, then its a couple of clicks and bammm, your wp install is done...

You absolutely can do this. You will just go into your FTP Client, I recommend Filezilla, and then assuming you've made your folder in Cpanel, you then just install Wordpress and your good to go!

FYI (since you are eager to give advice): when you are connected to your host server via FTP, you do NOT need any cPanel to create a folder/directory: just right-click in your FTP client's right window and select "Make directory" from the contextual menu box... then name your folder and you are ready to upload there whatever you want :p

Installing a WordPress blog is the easy part. The trickier part for you will be changing the menu (if any) on your static site and making your blog look like the rest of your site. You will need to post a screenshot or the url to get decent advice on how best to do that.
