Iframe Question

Hi,

I am considering placing the websites of my affiliates in iframes with a footer that would contain a link back to my page. Would this effect my site negativly with the search engines?

I know that google does not like iframes with PPC ads, but on a regular website, would it make a difference?

My goal is to write the product reviews on my website with an iframe link to my affiliate.

    Well, I wouldn't suggest using iframes at all in the first place, and they can get pretty annoying if you have to scroll a lot. Not a bad idea though, but I'd stick with no iframes personally.

    I'm unclear, are these actually "your affiliates" who sell your products for you, or are you talking about using pages from companies you represent as an affiliate?

    One thing to be careful about is if you are using tracking cookies to track affiliate sales on the page you place in the iframe. Cookies have a security model that can make them difficult to use in iframes where the iframe content is in another domain - some browsers (IE for example) are fussier about this than others.

    Like mywebwork says: you might get into potential problems, but aside that I have to disagree with the scroll problem. If you set a correct style then the scroll bars won't show up.

    I would just open them in a new window (add target="_blank") and they will still have your page open in the background.
