I have a client who needs to convert the page below into a landing page. How much would you charge for it?

I wouldn't charge anything for it, I don't think it will convert at all, I had no idea what I was looking at when the annoying popup prompted me to close the tab.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

This is a blog post... not a landing page.

A landing page looks something like this:

    Landing Page March 2013

    or this one...

    Free Landing Page August 2012 » w3cvalidco.de

A landing page can have any design you want. Whether or not a page is a landing page depends on what it is intended as.

Are you kidding us?? Did you bother to go through the link? It goes to a John Chow's blog post... CLEARLY isn't a landing page... Unless the OP is JC which I find highly unlikely.

What is it that is so beyond your understanding that it requires you to use excessive punctuation and CAPS?

Landing pages don't have to look like conventional landing pages. Perhaps you've never encountered landing pages that resemble news articles or blog posts before?

I'm not going to comment on OP's relationship, if any, to John Chow, but I'll say again that a landing page can look like a blog post.

Going against convention is a good thing at times. Try to get your head around that.

If you're trying to suggest that the page linked to by OP doesn't have a goal, then I suggest you take another look at it and see if you can figure out what the goal of that page is.

As far as tons of text, I personally don't feel that having lots of text precludes a page from being a landing page. But I would agree, if it's your opinion so, that most landing pages don't have lots of text.

Again, I believe that a page's intended purpose is what ultimately determines whether it's a landing page, and not whether it conforms to people's expectations of what a landing page should look like.

If I took any of your landing page examples and used them exclusively as blog post templates, I don't think they should be considered landing pages.

Similarly, if I use a layout commonly associated with blog posts to send paid traffic to with advertorial type content on such a layout, then my "blog" layout would effectively become my landing page. Many people actually do this.

I think some of you guys need to broaden your perspective a bit with regard to what exactly a landing page is.

If we really want to be wise-asses, then we can say that ANY page is a landing page. Since landing page = page you land on --> if the first page you go to is a contact us page --> it's a "landing page"

        But enough off-topic here.

The OP asked how much should he charge for the 'landing page' he linked. It isn't a landing page in a sense that some random guy can charge someone else for it. Only JC can charge for it.

I meant he wants the information that was displayed on the blog to be turned into a landing page. Is anyone willing to do it for him, and at what price? My schedule is full right now.

James, it would be better to find someone on Odesk.com or Freelancer.com or other freelance sites...

If you will look here, you are more likely to be scammed. No serious developer will look for work in an internet marketing forum.

Well first of all this isnt the right section for this topic ....And...

Scammers are everywhere, whether it is Odesk or Otable or Ogarden...

In Odesk or any freelance website, atleast you can check on the background of the person who is applying for doing your work, what work they have done in the past and their feedbacks from previous clients, giving you an idea of who or what that person really is and whether he can deliver what you want.. Moreover most have their escrow system which would keep you protected in terms of money.

On the other hand, here you will find self appointed "professionals" with no background check, no past info, no or fake portfolio and moreover no guarantee or protection about $$$ coz once you pay from paypal, consider it gone
