WordPress Media Library Problem... [solved]

Hi Folks,

Having been a warrior forum member now for over ten years, it's a rare thing that I need to ask for help... but this one has me stumped -

[And I'm sure it's an easy fix!)

Doing some work for a client this morning, went to upload some images and realised that the media library wasn't working properly - not assigning the images their correct permalink (and yes, as you'll see in the video, the settings seem to be correct).

I figure I've inadvertently screwed up some setting but can't for the life of me figure it out.

have create a short 4 min video to explain better -

If you think you've got an answer, please reply. Thanks.

Paul Barrs

PS. Working with Profits Theme (removing all the 'protected' pages making it just free access) - though there is *nothing* anywhere in PF to do with images and links.

Crazy thing is the site has been running 22 years and working fine... just not now.

There is no issue with it. The links of "View" will give you a link to the attachment page not the image link. To get the image link you need to click on edit and copy the link. If you want to insert the image to a post, simple add the image in the post, not to the media library....

No, that doesn't work either - the point being, when things were added to the image library (via a post or not) the images while uploading would not appear *in* the libray.

No matter - problem now sorted.

Another friend sent me this link - WordPress Media Library Not Working | Ideas and Pixels Cincinnati - while it wasn't any of those things; one of them got me thinking and started to check the code of the .htaccess file... yup, got it.

Somehow (and I've got no clue how) the .htaccess file in the wp-uploads folder had set itself to re-write the path of image uploads... prob something to do with the Profits Theme 'theme' that the site uses.
