Help with Optimizepress and Paypal

Hi

I created a salespage for my site using Optimizepress. I got everything to look perfect, but my 'Add To Cart' button does not seem to link correctly with paypal. I have a Paypal business account.

I tried testing my site's 'Add To Cart' button, when I click the button it goes to the Paypal home page instead of a Paypal checkout page. You know where you usually choose to enter a credit/debit card number as a guest or checkout with Paypal.

Does anyone know how I can get it to go to a Paypal checkout page instead of their home page? I talked to Paypal and they were no help.

What I have tried is to set up my site so that after a customer clicks 'Add To Cart' and pays, then they should be redirected to my Thank You page to download my info product. If there is an easier way to do this please let me know.

    Find the url of the button you want to use and copy it down.
    If you don't know, you can put one into a page using the OptimizePress shortcode, then click save, then view the source code of the page (right click).
    You can copy the button url from there.
    Delete the test shortcode you posted after.

    Go to this paypal link to generate a buy button.
    You will need to logiin.

    Start filling in the details and when you get to the part "Customize Button", you want to click "Customize text or appearence" and you'll get a dropdown.
    Select the checkbox "Use your own button image" and simply paste the url to you button image here.

    Once you've generated the button code, you can put it in WordPress (NOT using visual editor).

    As far as forwarding to your site for download after payment, that's usually tied in with the member or download software/plugin/script your using. Follow their instructions for the url to use for that.

    If you don't have something to handle member protection or downloads, you really need to.

    You can tell paypal to send them back to your site right to a download page, but that's useless unless you have the person login. Otherwise the world can download your product.

    The code for your button is not generated by paypal after you fill out the details.
    Not sure what your doing wrong in Paypal without seeing what your doing, but your not filling out the fields or pricing in the Paypal button generator.
    This is what the code should look like:

    Code:
    <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post" target="_top">
    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
    <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="DGYVT7HYCMGMU">
    <input type="image" src="http://singleparentsrelocate.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/addtocart-style1.png" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!">
    <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1">
    </form>

      I forgot to ask, should I be using a plugin for paypal? Just remembered one of their tech people saying that I need to intergrate paypal with wordpress!?! When I google info on this, a plugin is usually suggested.

      I will try creating another button. All the fields were filled out the first time. I followed the tutorial step by step. Kinda lost.

    No. Don't need a plugin.

    How are you protecting you site downloads?
    This may alter the way you create your paypal buttons.

    Optimizepress is giving me fists, seems a total piece of s**t.
    It hangs all the time, sometimes I can't delete an element. I reported this issue several times to their support (sort to speak) but they don't seem to be very interested. Their answers are frankly ridiculous.
    I had an issue trying to integrate Paypal payments, and it was complicated, training is outdated and I hate to google the solution while their support should provide, right? That's what you are paying for, right?
    I came out with the solution (on my own) and configured this thing but now it seems that I have to do more settings on optimizemember (or something like that) which I found ridiculous since I'm not planning to run a membership site.
    To recap: you'd be better off of this thing, pretty bad service and horrible plugin.
