Hello Warriors

I'm used to work with WP but have a client with a Joomla site which need some sort of automation where new post/listings in his directory should be distributed onto his social profiles to get a perfect integration.

And his On page SEO needs to be improved over better permalinks etc.

But how does Joomla act on this behalf?

Are there plugins as in WP or is all unique and needs to be setup by a programmer?

Could a Joomla site be imported into a WP site without a lot of work or risk to loose data?

Thanks for any help.

G.

All my sites are Joomla based. You are probably on the wrong forum, go to the Joomla forum where you will find a ton of stuff and also look at the extensions directory on the main Joomla website. There are Joomla SEO tool components (the best ones are commercial) but there are some good free ones that might serve your purpose

Data in an MYSQL database is data so in theory you can data move by export/import but might prove tedious unless you can find a Wordpress/Joomla import/export tool. This cannot be the first time someone has needed to do this so a search might find you a tool. You wll find that there are WP/Joomla developers in the Joomla community who would be able to help.

If your clients website is built on Joomla then you shouldn't change his platform to make the job easier for yourself (which it probably wouldn't be anyway) you should educate yourself and understand Joomla more to find a solution.

Artio Joomsef is currently my favorite SEO extension, you can get urls how you like them and rid yourself of duplicate content issues, and works well with multilingual sites.
It has a lot of options, so setting it up for the best SEO for your install may take some tweaking.

There are a load of plugins that will auto post new articles to facebook and the like - look on the joomla extensions directory.

Thank you very much, this is a new world for me so I'm a bit lost.

But I could see that it's not that different then WP so maybe I get into this to understand Joomla better.

Another solution would be outsourcing the things we have to change as we don't need to setup a new site, only optimize an existing one.

Will check out that plugin for SEO.
