Where is my Wordpress file?

when I first downloaded wordpress and installed it, I was using my old desktop. Now I am using my new laptop to manage my website on wordpress. I didn't have to download anything on the laptop for wordpress. I just logged in and started editing.

I no longer have my desktop anymore. But, there is a file that I am supposed to edit in my wordpress file that is supposed to be in my computer. How would I find this file or go about getting a new Wordpress file without messing up everything that I already have going for me.

Thanks in advance.

Your answer is FTP. Use it: besides being able to uplaod files, you can download files as well

Well I am trying to edit some fields on a "Classifieds Ad" plugin but in order to do so, I have to download a program called proedit that wants me to open up a file in my wordpress folder on my computer. Only thing is I don't have a wordpress folder on my computer. There is no physical file on my computer called "Wordpress" or anything like that. I did install Wordpress on a different computer so maybe at the time my Wordpress folder was on that computer but then I switched to a different computer and didn't need a file to get back into Wordpress. I just went to my Admin login section and logged in and I was able to pick up where I left off on my Wordpress site. So I'm not sure how to get this "Wordpress" folder. I'm not sure how to get more specific then this.

I actually switch off between 3 different computers when working on my site and I haven't installed Wordpress on any of them. I just log in at the admin loggin page.

You're trying to edit the Language File (.PO) or you're trying to edit the files of the plugin? I don't know "ProEdit" sofware but "PoEdit".

PoEdit is for language files like .PO.

If you're trying to to edit Plugin files, it's a no no according to your current knowledge with Wordpress!

Sorry to say, according to your current situation and knowledge, you're unable to divide the setup of your Wordpress between Local Computer and to the internet Web Hosting Company.

I assume in respond to your current situation, you're on the Web Host Account.

Your Wordpress files & folders are on the Web Hosting Account. I don't know how you could install your Wordpress on your hosting account at all.

USE FTP! If you don't know what FTP is, go ahead and give the task to the technical one who could handle these.

This place is not suitable for absolute newbie, Excuse Me so!

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

Ok... First off, I'm not an absolute newbie. I know what FTP is. Second, I did mean Poedit. Not Proedit. My mistake. I am trying to edit the Language file. I just wasn't sure where to find my language file.

My fault! Though do you know how to access your Wordpress directory through FTP?

I see that you want to find the language file of a plugin.
That usually be in the "language/lang" folder of the "plugin" folder OR there is no this folder at all (language/lang). Check with your plugin that it's translatable.
If you don't mind what Classified Plugin are you using?

(AWPCP) Another Wordpress Classified Plugin - It is translatable.

So I just need to look in the Language/Lang Folder of the AWPCP Plugin in my FTP? I'm not 100% how to access WP through FTP. How do you do that?

Also, I'm not mad. Just wanted you to know that I'm not a complete newbie. I do know somewhat what I'm doing. lol.

First, you need know how to access your Wordpress site through FTP or File Manager in your cPanel.

Mostly, I use FileZilla and I suggest you to read this first: https://wiki.filezilla-project.org/F...orial_%28en%29
