How To Get Social Sharing Widget To Use Root URL On Wordpress?

So I am using digg digg as my social sharing widget on a wordpress blog. The problem is that I am using one post for my home page and when someone "likes" the page instead of liking the root URL eg http://mysite.com it will "like" http://mysite.com/post/ instead. How do I enable these types of social sharing plugins to use the home URL instead? I have tried enabling in the sidebar but that results in the same thing.

Thanks

As far as I can see the plugin is designed only to share the current page.

You would have to [or get someone to] modify the plugin.

Are you aware of any other social sharing plugins that allow what I am after?

Digg Digg's functionality is to share a specific post or page inside your website but if you still want to share only the root domain name of your site, then do it manually with a simple Like Button.

You can generate yours here and embed anywhere in your site in under two minutes.

    Good luck!

The Facebook Social Sharing Widget will allow visitors to "Like" any URL you choose. And you can display it in your sidebar. You can then still use Digg Digg for visitors to like specific posts.
