Good custom web design sites?

Hi,

I was looking for a custom website design (HTML templates) for a few pages.

Internet is full of mixed and maybe fake reviews, cannot trust. So I was interested to listen from Warriors if anyone of you have any experience on good web design firms. The design should be modern.

Anyone has any links to some websites where they in past got their website template coded? Also websites with portfolio are preferred.

    Well, Themeforest is interesting but I actually wanted to see if there are any reliable designer companies outside of themeforest. I'm not so convenient working with designers over there.

    Regarding features, we don't need much, few pages - Homepage, Login, Contact Us, Register, Features (Why Join?) and maybe other one or two.

    Honestly, I would stay away from templates. They're not unique and lack luster.

    What's your budget if you don't mind me asking?

      Maybe $500-600 USD. That's why I'm planning for some custom work and not trying to buy pre-made ones.

    Go on Elance.com or any other freelancer website, and hire a designer to design it then a web developer to develop it. Good luck!

    @Crazy4cs...you stated your budget and the fact you need about 3-4 pages however you did not mention the features of those pages. Do you need a CMS? Does content need to be added at will or on the fly? How capable are you with xhtml5 sites? Is this for a linux or windows server? All of these questions and more will help you choose the right designer / coder / developer and also assist you in knowing if your budget fits your requirements

      XHTML5? I'm fairly positive that is stick at 1.1 Strict.

      I'm positive that the Linux/Windows question might be a little much. It's safer to assume he's on a shared box. And nevertheless, you can run a lot of the same software on both. WordPress on Linux? Yep. WordPress on Windows? Still yes.

            Thank you for that huge correction...do tell how easy it is to run php on a windows box? The last I checked it might be easy for a professional to do but becomes very complicated if the person is not familiar with it which is why I suggested hiring the type of developer which would make matters much easier for the OP. Let's not over complicate things

    Themeforest has a good collection of themes or you can hire a freelancer to do a custom job if you want more personal and customized experience.

    Exactly, so why not leave it to the professional, chief. And I agree, let's not over complicate it. So why not leave server talk out of it, all together? More than likely he's going to want a WordPress site and a shared host. You're getting into stuff way too ahead of time.

    I'd recommend reading up a bit on the field first. If you'd like a link to my blog let me know. We have articles for novice and pro alike.

    Thanks for the reply, people. Well, to clear out any novice or alike confusion, I've been a webmaster for over more than four years and run few successful sites too. I can make templates too, but for this project, we just really wanted that "perfect" touch. I code in PHP well and develop a good deal of MyBB forum plugins and other misc PHP scripts too, just to clear out any novice or newbie confusion.

    And I definitely don't need a Wordpress otherwise I'd have mentioned it.

    I was just in need of design to use it over our custom script.

    Awesome site for designers/developers. They regularly put up work they have done in the past and people rate it. You may find someone very good to help you out. At least you know the work they have done prior.

    Ok look... if you're looking for CHEAP custom design:
    - go to Logo Design, Web Design and More. | 99designs and look up the designers you like and contact them directly
    - have your designers make something for you, then take it to a programmer (on odesk.com) to splice it into a custom html template

    If you're looking for the absolute best designs:
    - go to Awwwards - Website Awards - Best Web Design Trends and look up the designers and contact. These guys will cost you $5k-25k or something like that.
