Which Design Is Best? Can't Decide...

Hi Warriors,

I have had a blog for 5 months or so, but I am unsure of the theme I am using. I like it, but I know others think it is too 'heavy'.

Please tell me, in your opinion, which one:

1) Current theme (Magazine style theme): Here

2) Now decided - I went with option 1 above.

Obvs theme 2 (genesis) is on another domain, and I have just imported the posts etc into number 2, the widget areas etc haven't been set up yet.

Which one? 1 or 2? And why?

  I agree. The second one looks a lot cleaner, and more professional. The first one looks a little bit on the "tacky" side, IMO.

I think the first one would look better without the red div containing the text "Business, Money, Blogging, Internet Marketing, Product Creation, See The COMPLETE Archive of Articles >>>>>"...

Also, the huge dollar sign looks incredibly tacky.

I think if you get rid of some of the clutter, the first one would look better.

As is, I think the second one looks better, but I'd much prefer the first one if some of the visual clutter were removed.

Yes, agreed, I have removed that top block now, but I still don't know if it is visually appealing or it confuses people - reason I say this is because of a high bounce rate.

They are exactly the same as my 2 cents, and will be moving my theme to the Genesis Framework.

  Hey, yes, I was just doing some testing with some minify settings to try and get the Google Speed Test up from 76, but the site malfunctioned when I changed the settings.

  Yes thanks Jon - option 2 was just a test site for me, I installed genesis there and imported my posts across just so i could ask here for the comparison between my current site, and the new genesis theme. I have now pulled the site on option 2 as it was just on a vacant domain i don't use.

Thanks Marc, yes I agree the graphics needing cleaning up, I need to follow one standard for presenting them, especially within posts.
