Constantly hitting a brick wall with web design

I'm trying to launch a niche site using wordpress with a blog, forum and product page where I can promote an ebook and create a list.

So far I have the site up with a blog using the basic twenty eleven theme.

Next I need to create the forum but bbpress is an absolute nightmare. The plugin took seconds to install but the front-end registration process is so clunky and un-user-friendly that I don't think I can use it. Registration takes users to a back-end wordpress login page. It's horrific.

The product page will be next, I've heard good things about lead pages but have no idea whether this can integrate with wordpress easily?

I'm basically taking one step forward and 2 back with this all the time. I feel like my progress is like walking with lead weights on and I'm constantly encountering huge hurdles.

Any advice appreciated.

It looks like you need a real developer, not to be harsh but sometimes you just need to hire a professional. If you are finding things going over your head perhaps its time to reconsider doing it a different way?

Buddypress is great for what it does, but do you really want a community driven plugin for your niche site? Maybe if you can give a little more insight on what you want to be doing maybe another Warrior can suggest a better theme or plugin?
