Can anyone tell me how to create banners

Adobe Photoshop is the standard software for web graphics. Although you better put a few days aside to learn & have a good natural eye for design if you want your banners to be professional.

I would suggest outsourcing the work.

you can do it on your own but it won't look like that of a pro designer.

there is also gimp out there which is a free tool. you can learn some banner designing skills on youtube:

Photoshop and Gimp are bit tough softwares, actually i have no time to learn much depth..

iam looking for some software that helps me to create banner very quickly! ( no matters even if my banner doesnt look like much professional )

so, any other easy softwares you know?

Actually, for banners, PS is not that hard to figure out. Once you actually use it, you'll see how easy it is to work with.

  You could also use a free banner maker. Google it and you'll find many places to get the job done. However, the look and feel will often not scream "professional". If u know what I mean

  A really easy software to use that not too many people know about is yahoo site builder... Its a really simple drag and drop interface... You can use images and you can create fancy fonts for the text on a site like cooltext...

Hi Gill,

I use Ribbet! for almost all of my graphics. It is a FREE online graphics editor with so much to offer. I've created logos and graphics for websites. You can adjust your size on the fly, there are all sorts of elements to use, you can import graphics and photos and then re-size them, you can also pull in your system fonts from your computer or use one of theirs.

Just go to Ribbet!.com and have fun. P.S. I just did a whole graphics course on how to use free online editors for graphics and most of it was done in Ribbet!

You can also download your projects right to your desktop in either .jpg or .png files if you are using a transparent background.

Ribbet! also has an advanced editor that is much like Photoshop, but I rarely use it due to the learning curve.

Hey Guys, I'm actually in the middle of create a professional banner maker website. I know that doesn't help you out right now. But. I'd be curious to know how much you'd be willing to pay, I'm thinking of pricing it at $25/per year. With that your able to save 10 banners into the database. You will be able to save your banners as JPG, PNG, or GIF. No Flash. - Flash is dying anyways because of mobile compatibility. With that you would be able to copy and paste your banner anywhere.

I realize that many people do not have the time to learn GIMP or PS, but they want to make professional quick banners. That's why I'm determined to create the best one out there. I'll let you know when its live, but I'd be interested to know what you think on pricing?

  serryjw, I don't agree with you. What your talking about are the poorly designed expandable banners. I too also had the kind of expandable banners that as soon as you rollover it, it expands a large flash banner that automatically plays a video with a difficult to stop/Close button.
  
  This is poor design and usability and does the opposite of what you goal is.
  
  However, there are expandable banners that can be created/tested with design and usability in mind. Firstly having a clear button that says "Click Here to Expand." Then having it expand with a very clear close button.
  
  Our goal with expandable banners is help users create good design and usability with Expandable Banners.

Easiest way to make a banner is via xheader but the best is adobe Photoshop if you care about originality and quality. The downside is you gotta learn it first and have eyes for smart designs.
