Hi,

I would appreciate if anyone can suggest a great theme suitable for Wordpress-based tutorial website.

I went through a thread that was created 2 years ago (Wordpress theme like net.tutsplus, vector.tutsplus etc. | ThemeForest Community Forums) and believe that there are much newer themes available now:

The website will have a community also.

Thanks! Niladri

I think Optimize Press is still one of the best options. Especially if it's a tutorial site, you want the site to be clean and user-friendly.

I use KnowledgePress (a themeforest theme) for one of my sites, and I reckon it would work really, really nicely as a searchable tutorial site.

I'm also going to be using Dolphin for my own tutorial site - not a theme, a different CMS, but that's not really helpful to your question is it? lol.

Anyway, check out knowledgepress (do a search on themeforest.net)

This is how I have setup my 'knowledgebase' page for my articles:
    Knowledgebase | Penny'pedia
But it's customizable so you don't have to have it setup like that - I just think it's easier.

Else, you can use any theme you like and use a different plugin to display sortable tutorials.

For example, I have my archives pages setup like this:
    Business & Marketing | Penny'pedia
The plugin that I'm using to get that look is called "Post Tiles" - it's free from the wordpress repository - I LOVE it.
It looks even nicer if you add featured images to you tutorials (which I don't because my site is very wordy)

Oh another idea for you is to look for "Recipe" themes.. I know that sounds weird, but if you have a lot of different subjects for tutorials - a recipe theme is perfect. You need to change the language .. so instead of "Cuisine", it would be "Type" and instead of "ingredients" it would be "keywords" or something (whatever is appropriate to your tutorials).. those kinds of themes would then end up being the perfect way to look through related tutorials in many different subjects.
    They even have "steps" etc.
