You have to figure out certain things... e.g. do you want to learn web design OR do you want to build a business selling/promoting affiliate products?

Learning both in the same time might be frustrating and not really productive.

If you are into building a business, just outsource it (i.e. pay somebody to do it for you) and focus on the business!

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

I couldn't agree more! Trying to learn both web design and how to run a business will be very trying and making money will be very hard at first. Pick design or web, master it, then learn the other.

If your set on learning both at the same time try using Wordpress for your site. It's very user friendly, especially for newbies. There are also a lot of free tutorials on the web. Hope this helps!

WordPress is an easy way to get started.

Google and get a premium wordpress theme and turn it into a site for your affiliate site.

There are tons of videos on YouTube to help you get started for free.

There are even FREE themes you can use but paid ones are much better and customized.

Ugh why would you tell as beginner to use a paid theme? It is much harder for them to figure out how to use a Genesis theme or a Theme Frame one, for example than a free one.

You can learn to do it yourself. But you need a clear plan of what you need and how it will work onsite.

    Alternatively you can outsource it.

Alternatively you could scout the website marketplaces to see if someone is selling an established site that ticks most of the boxes.

If you like to design an affiliate site by yourself then there are hundreds of videos or tutorials available online . I recommend wordpress because it is easy and user friendly. However if you want to outsource your website then post your requirement in appropriate section of WF , there are lots of people available to do this job.
If you want I can setup a basic wordpress website for you free of cost , just shoot me a PM with your requirement.

    Cheers

As others have said, if you are a beginner, just use Wordpress. It is easy to learn and you don't need to do any hand coding or designing.

I was an absolute beginner about 2 months. I decided to learn from youtube videos. My bookmark list was getting long and confusing, so I decided to keep notes on a website, which eventually turned into a website to help people know which videos to watch. I find it useful if I need to revisit something. I found the best video on most things like how to configure SEO by Yoast. There are many video but the one I link I think is the most useful-good luck

I completely understand as I was where you are right now 7 years ago.

Making a wordpress site can be easy and/or hard depending on how in-depth you want to go. There are free sites to get started like blogger.com, wordpress.com, etc. The bad thing is that you don't own them but they are effective especially if you are just getting started.

When you get further along and want to earn your own piece of internet property, you can join a hosting site where it will cost you anywhere from $3.95-? a month (depends on who you choose) and grab a domain name. You can then add a WP Theme to your site and customize it with Plugins, a theme, widgets, etc. It helps to know a little HTML but you don't have to be a developer.

The other thing I would like to point out is that 1) you can set up a site to specifically sell affiliate products but 2) the other option is a blog with affiliate products. That being said, if you want to do a blog, it can't be all about the selling. You have to provide good content in order for people to come back and visit you over and over. And, the statistic a couple of years ago (don't know if it is still true) was that someone would have to visit you at least 7 times before they will buy anything from you.

I agree with others about hiring someone but if you don't have any $$ yet or just don't have the inclination or time to try and learn this. It might be an expensive proposition unless you can find a good deal here in the forum or someone through elance.com or a similar site where people are for hire. There is also a "FOR HIRE" section here in the forum. Maybe that would be a good place to look as well?

Hope this helps and good luck.

If you are just starting out you should go for a Wordpress site! Much easier for new marketers to get a good website out fast. If you need someone to help you set up a whole website you are going to have to pay someone!

Definitely go for WordPress. As you are a beginner, you must opt for WordPress. Very simple to install, use and most important factor is that you might not need any coder to do your job initially.
