Hi everyone

I like to hear you experience and opinion on using aged domains for building new websites. Do you use aged domains or do you prefer a fresh new domain?

I am looking into aged domains, because I like to think that they can kick start my new websites and help me get more organic traffic....at least this is what my tests show so far .

Kind regards
Andy

I care more about the name and its availability. Could care less about age.

I think it is a myth promoted by domain registrars. Because it suits them that people keep on renewing crappy domains. For me age doesn't matter at all. The thing which matters is the name and content.

The most important factor is the name, if it's aged that would be a slight plus, but if it's not the
    right name
    I would forget it

For a brand new site I would prefer FRESH domain. Mainly because this way I can avoid any possible past blacklisting, Panda and/or Penguin penalties and others...

I think nowadays it's not that very important to have an old domain. It's more important to have a clean domain!

You will never know exactly who owned the domain in the past and what they did with it exactly. They could have destroyed its reputation with bad SEO/spam/warez etc.

Rather buy a cheap new domain than spend your money on some old domain.

EXCEPT: in case you find a good, established quality site, than its domain could be worth a fortune.
