    You need to remove the dates from the template editor under Appearance: Editor.

    Some wordpress themes built on a framework give you the option of deleting the post info in the theme options.

      That's too bad advice! Even if you must remove it from template file, it should not be wised edited in WordPress Editor itself because it's involving the risk of mixing stuffs and can not undo after changing and saving.

      As Robin mentioned above, using child theme is a good practice when dealing with theme update and not mix up the original theme file.

      Anyways, what is the theme that you're using?

    I've seen two posts that recommend editing the theme, without reference to using a child theme.

    That is bad advice, if you make any changes to a theme the changes will be lost if you update the theme, and it is a bad and risky practice not to keep all the elements of a wordpress site up to date.
