Cant get started with wordpress

Hey guys I just downloaded wordpress on hostgator. However when I tried to access the link to my admin page it wont work.

It says that google chrome isnt able to find the page. However, I am confused as most of the video tutorials on youtube show that the link can be accessed immediately. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Did you change to another browser and check??
    normally the login link(ended with wp-login.php) is always valid..

    What do you see if you go to http://yourdomain.com ?

    If you didn't use fantastico or quick install you tried to do it the hard way, and it would be best to delete all the wordpress files and start over.

      Agree - try the plain domain first to see if the install is there, if not then start over again. Also hostgator chat should see you through on this.
