Constructive Criticism Needed

Okay, so the domain is TheBlogAge.com or just click here.


I'm looking for feedback/criticism/compliments on the following:


1. The design (I did it myself and I'm no designer by far)

2. The content (Good? Bad? Mediocre?

3. Any tips? Suggestions?

4. The domain itself. Catchy name? Generic? What?

5. Anything else you can think of or tips in general.

    The name doesn't make much sense to me. The blog age - reference to the fact we live in an age of blogs? From the homepage I can't tell what the site's about, which is a bad thing. Looks like you're trying to cover a lot of bases: news, reviews, lists, rants...

    The design overall is a slightly strange mix of old and new. The background texture looks dated, to me, but then you have this slick content slider.

    Unsure what the significance of the igloo is.

    Imo the adsense ad at the top is too prominent. It's way more prominent than your blog title and logo - it shouldn't be.

    Maybe I'm getting old but I find the fonts too small.

    I'm not seeing much of a social media presence?

      To answer some of your questions...

      1. Yes, The Blog Age, not The Ice Age.

      2. Covering a lot of bases correct.

      3. The igloo is explained in the "About Us" page.

      4. It is a little old/new but I'm no designer and threw it together myself.

      5. I haven't set up social media for the site yet (it's 2 days old)

    Think Charles was trying to say, covering everything might get you no where. So general.

    Who are you trying to get to your site? Just any one?

    Big thing, it's going to be tough to make money because it's to general. Ads probably won't get many clicks because it's not focused.

    I think the design/layout/look is good, I like it.

      Well the target audience will be fans of weird news, nostalgia, etc.

      It just isn't that noticeable yet since it's new.

        I like the plain webdesign.

        Instead of the Youtube pic you may add something else... the (21) images of the posts, a pic-rotation of some last posts with description or something like that.

        Anywhere something that says what the webiste for any who are you on the start page.
