How Do I Do This With XSitePro 2?

Here is the situation.

I want to see if a free ebook is going to attract enough opt-ins to be worth actually writing the ebook.

So I want to make an opt-in form where people can input their name and email address.... but when they hit "submit", they end up on an "error" page that tells them an error has occurred and their email has not been recorded (and contains the Adwords tracking code cookie thingy).

I don't want their email address (because I have no ebook to give them yet).... I just want a rough idea of how many people are opting in and from what keywords they are coming from. Then I will decide what to do next.

I have XSitePro2. It has a great Form Wizard that allows me to easily create a nice looking form. However, I don't seem to be able to do what I want above.

They force you to use Aweber, GetResponse, XMail, and another one I can't think of. Another option is to use your own server if it has PHP (I have no idea how to set this up to do what I want above... I have tried and failed)

Unfortunately, XSitePro will not let me create a couple blank form fields and then create a SEPERATE submit button that links to my own custom "error" page.

I'm not sure what to do. Is it ok for me to collect the email addresses using a normal autoresponder and just discard them?

In short, this is the same concept that many people use with sales letters. Write the sales letter first, put an "order now" link on the page and tell them you are not taking orders at this time (for some believable reason). You get to see how well the product might sell without actually creating it.

I want to do that with an opt-in form, but I can't figure out how to do it with XSitePro 2.

Any help? I hope I explained things clearly enough.
