Changing An HTML Newsletter...Help Needed

Hey guys and gals, an HTML newbie has a couple quick questions.

1. Are there any free programs that hold HTML code into place and numbers the lines so that you can make modifications easier? I think that Dreamweaver does this, correct?

2. Are there any good resources you can suggest to someone learning HTML? I have tried reading some online guides but they are very hard to understand and all of the videos that I found were hard to follow because the coder assumed that the viewer had a certain level of knowledge.

Thanks a ton for any and all help.

      Thanks for the reply. I have no skills at all but I am looking to develop them. I have downloaded KompoZer, any experience with that program?

    If you're just starting out, I recommend that you pass on Dreamweaver... it will just overwhelm you.

    Instead, start with a good, basic text editor like Notepad++

    Notepad++ Home

    Start with these... they are geared for beginners, and very helpful...

    List of Videos for XHTML & CSS

    ^ For each video, click the 'full screen' button on the bottom right of the YouTube player, and it will be a lot easier to follow along.

    Be sure to pause the videos often, and experiment with the code yourself in your text editor. You'll learn much quicker by doing that.

    Once you feel comfortable with XHTML & CSS, then move on to HTML5... as that's the future, and ultimately where you want to wind up.
