    I would recommend using Wordfence plugin, it will scan the files and Posts/comments for various exploits and block the ip's of hackers after one or more (selectable in the configuration) failed login attempts.

        I've always used Wordfence as well. Not only will it scan for exploits, you can limit the number of connections from I.P.'s, limit login attempts, hide crucial WP information hackers can use against you, and monitor real-time site traffic, amongst other things.

        Also, if you use themes you download from second-hand sources*, you should give Theme Authenticity Checker a try. It will scan any installed themes for static links, which are often used for spam purposes, and for dangerous encrypted code, which can be used to take over your site and/or steal valuable stored information.

        Bulletproof Security is another security plugin with phenomenal ratings (4.8/5 with over 500 votes). You should give it a look, too. It has some features the other two don't have. If you're really paranoid about your security, you could try going with all three.

        *Which, contrary to popular opinion, is usually 100% legal thanks to Wordpress' GPL policy.

          Somebody mislead you: it was never about the "legality" of the so-called second-hand sources... it was about their crappy practice to hide backlinks and malicious code in the themes!

          That's why every sane WP user would advice you NOT to download themes from shady websites pretending to be a repository of other peoples' themes.

            I mentioned both hidden links and malicious code in my original post, so I'm not sure why you believe I've been mislead.

            I've been using them for some time without issues. It's not something unaware people should do, no, but if you have enough knowledge to know what to look for, and to clean up malicious code should you find it, it's fine.

              Hi

              Thanks all for your tips and input learned a lot here.
              Specially not to use themes that has no real authority, it is important advise to take
              I will try bulletproof plugin also I have another niche website can check on it also
              One another thing I learned was to limit the permissions to my htaccess file to 444 not 644
              It is one option also use this security code

              <Files ~ "^.*\.([Hh][Tt][Aa])">
              order allow,deny
              deny from all
              satisfy all
              </Files>

              Also to change the config WP file not to be edited

              Again Thanks for great help
              Thank you Take care
