I am trying to accomplish getting on the front page of google's results. I have managed to partially tackle the situation, but I need help! You see, I can get to the front page of google, but only if the term I am shooting for is used with quotes. For instance, I am #1 for the term "buy cell phones online" but not for the term buy cell phones online:confused: What exactly is it that I'm doing to get on the front page in quotes but not with out. It is to my understanding that it's better to be in #1 without quotes because most people aren't searching with quotes right?

    When you use quotes, the returned result will show the number of competing websites that try to optimized for that keyword. The keyword must appear in their meta tag. The result returned by SE will be exactly the keyword that you include in the quotes i.e exact match. eg "fixing computer"

    Searching without quotes will return more results as SE will display all websites who has at least one keyword appear in their tag, title, content, etc in any order i.e it is not specific.

    you can use "your keyword" (in quotes) just as a guide to find out how many competition you have in that niche.

    dont' worry too much about that, just keeping getting backlinks pointing back to your site and your ranking will increase (provided that the keyword you have chosen is not highly competitive else you have to work really hard to achieve #1 or even 1st page in Google)
