Need Advice Integrating Blog

Hi Guys,

So I have a Wordpress Website that's ranking quite well for local keywords.

I keep hearing that we should be adding fresh content frequently, problem is that the homepage is a static page that has been designed carefully, the layout, text and images all look good so adding fresh content is really not an option. Where would I add it?

I'm thinking of maybe adding a blog somewhere within the text on the homepage. See image below, Is this a good idea for SEO and can anyone suggest a good plugin that would enable me to add a blog like so?

    1. Do NOT ask seo questions in this forum.
    2. Look into your own WP install: under Settings > Reading (where you did set up the static frontpage) you also have an option to select one of your - completely empty but existent!!! - Page as "posts page"... that's where the blog posts would/should go.
    3. In the default WP themes there is a Page template that displays not only the 'static' gizmos but also 'dynamic content' = recent posts.
    3a. If using your own theme/templates > search the net for "wp static frontpage dynamic content" and you will find endless solutions.
