Need help finding the right wordpress theme.

So I'm working on building my blog on the word press platform.

I've got some themes I've already purchased in the past that include a handful of elegent themes, Socrates, and genesis.

I'm having a really hard time getting the layout to look just right. I am flexible, but some basic things just don't work out how I need them. here's what I want:

1 or 2 column list, on index pages, of posts that include a thumbnail of the post image (as I will have an image on every post).

The full title of the post under the thumbnail on index pages, as many of my post titles are long enough that the theme cuts them off (on the index pages) if they go over 1 line of text.

Would prefer no excerpt of the post under the title on the index pages, but that's not critical.

Tabs on top of the page for categories

Custom header option.

Additional column available for widgets and ads (pretty standard I believe).

Ability to have social sharing buttons for every post / image.


OR

If anyone just has any advice on a theme they like that works well with lots of images and plays nicely with social networking, please share.

And I'm not looking to hire someone to build it for me, I'd much rather find a free theme that works for most of what I need and just settle with that, or maybe buy another premium theme for a one time fee.

    If you're willing to consider a paid "premium" theme, you might be better off picking a free theme that comes close and hiring someone to make the tweaks.

    Also, one or more of the themes you purchased has a support forum where you might get tips on how to make changes to what you already bought.

    For social networking function, you can choose free one from wordpress.org. Actually if you're capable of editing a theme by yourself, you can just pick a free one. There're many out there.

    Or if you have to buy one, maybe you can think about using a multi-purpose one, but still you should have a bit of knowledge about CSS. Take a look at Nextbiz - Responsive Multi-Purpose WordPress Theme, check if it works for you.

    If you want to spend some time and effort customising themes yourself, then it opens your range up to the more popular and well-built themes with good support.

    If you're looking for one right out of the box to meet your exact requirements, then it might take some time trolling the WP theme marketplaces.

    You will find some good tutorials on YouTube/blogs that show you how to do the more minor development. I started with the basic "responsive theme" and made a bunch of updates to my blog myself.

    Always choose a theme with good support and ratings if you will require asisstance down the line.
