Needing a Theme Similar to This

So, I've sort of found the theme that I want for most of my sites.

I've installed it on to my portfolio site:

Jessie Louthan

I like the look of it, however, it's not very customisable. I would love to have something similar to this, but of course, be able to customise it.

Although I would prefer to find a free one, I'm open to a paid one as well. Thoughts?

WordPress is actually very customizable with gazillions of plug-ins and other upgrades . . . surprised to hear that you can't do what you want with your theme.

You could, on the other hand, find a theme that already has all the bells and whistles you want and then change the look to suit your tastes.

Either way, WordPress should be able to do everything you want. Without telling us exactly what you're looking for it's going to be hard for anyone to suggest something that is going to satisfy your tastes.

    Good luck,

Yeah, I'm not looking for something that I have to go in and mess with the HTML too much...I prefer not to touch that at all. By "customisation", I mean mostly drag and drop, as well as being able to fill in the blank type thing.

I also don't want to all a lot of plugins, because the more plugins you add, the slower your site is...plus, not all plugins are compatible with one another.

    1. No offense... but that main/front/home page (actually, for me a landing page, since that's where I landed on your page) - simply sucks.
Why do you need a comment form on an "introduction of the site and myself"-type of page?

    2. Drag and drop is way worse than many plugins on your site. Fact: the "simpler" the customization is for code illiterates.. the more buggy, bloated code is there to work behind the scenes. If you want a fast site - I'd stay away from anything "drag'n'drop"!

    3. Find a theme that is close to what you want and outsource to a knowledgeable webmaster to make the modification you need.

    4. What exactly "customization" means for people that are not designers and don't know code? (just curious)

If you're looking for a free wordpress theme, a quick Google search will turn up dozens, if not hundreds, of free WP theme collection websites. It may take you a little bit of time to sift through to find the theme that you want, but most sites have a tag search feature you can use.

And any webmaster worth his salt knows that exactly those "theme collection" BS sites should be avoided like the plague...

In 99% of the cases they just take someone else's theme (without permission) and they insert in the footer (and/or functions.php) file all kind of garbage links or, even worse, malicious script to open a backdrop to your site.

        The short version: dumb advice!

      1) LOL of course "it sucks", that's why I'm looking for a new theme...unless you're talking about something else.

I put that there as a stopgap, because I had inadvertently deleted the database to the site...I'm in the process of migration all of the articles that were published on other sites. If someone that is researching me for a potential position with their company, then they can go to the other sites by clicking on the link. I made it as easy as I can.

Of course, if they want to roam around the site, hey, that's cool too. There's some other sections that aren't advertised on there...it's kind of like a treasure hunt.

      2) I've never had an issue with "drag and drop" sites, must be the ones that you're using.

      3) I don't have the time/money to do that now, and in my experience, it wasn't much different from what I could have done on my own. Maybe one day I'll do it, but I really don't care enough to.

      4) I'm not quite sure what your question was, but yes, I do know how to code. Do I want to do it? No, zero desire to. Not now, not ever. I have more important things to worry about.
