You blog is still there but somehow the default page has been changed. I can see your blog at Tristan Lee's Blog - Self-Improvement Tips for Personal Success but without typing in the page name I just get a page with "My first Stylesheet".

It looks like the default page on your server (or virtual server) has been set to point to something other than index.html.

If you provide a bit more information regarding your setup I may be able to assist.

    Hi!

I'm using XSitePro2. My file name is index.html which is also set as my home page. Yet when I type in www.tristanleesblog.com versus www.tristanleesblog.com/index.html I get two seperate things. I'm even clueless to what information to give out in order to fix this problem.

When you say this is "set" as your home page what do you mean? Are you speaking of a server setting or do you just mean that in xSitePro you designated this as the Home page?

Some details about your hosting plan might be useful (without divulging any security sensitive aspects of course!).

Did you make any changes to your site just before this occurred, or did it happen on it's own?

    Hi Bill,

Sorry for the late response; my battery died at Starbucks. But I rushed back home and now here I am!

What I mean by set is that in XSitePro you can set any webpage as your homepage by clicking a check mark.

    Page Option
Selection from the following options affecting this page

    ___Make this my Home Page
    ___Publish this Web Page
___Add this page to my Site Map

All these are checked making the file name index.html (I can't change this unless I uncheck Make this my Home Page).

I was messing around with CSS before this happened because I wanted to change the line spacing. However it just gave me a headache because things got screwy. I use GoDaddy, but I sent them support and still no response...

I came to Warrior Forum because maybe people here knew more about CSS and although this may be a frustrating problem for me (I'm not really a web techie type person as you can see from the blog), maybe it's a very simple problem that can easily be done by myself with some instructions of other people?

I just hope this isn't permanent?

    Hi Tristan

Well CSS isn't the problem here, it really seems like a hosting issue. I haven't used GoDaddy for hosting for several years, as I recall they don't have CPanel but instead have their own admin utility.

I've been trying to "snoop" at this from here to see what page is actually loading but with no success.

I'm curious about this one myself and would like to help you out. Not sure what time zone you are in, I'm in HST which is GMT -10. If you want to you could PM me and we could arrange a time to get online with Skype and work on this. I also use GoToAssist to help people via remote control, we could do that as well if you like - this avoids you having to divulge your GoDaddy login information to me.

    Aloha

Hi Bill, that's very nice of you. I'm going to teach little kids soon, but I have a couple hours break. Will you be up in the next few hours?

      I've never used Skype before...

I'm more used to AOL instant messenger or MSN Messenger? But I could try downloading Skype if that's what you use, even though I have no idea what it is.

I wish to get this solved by tonight. If anyone else has some insight on this problem, please let me know.

Otherwise, I'll talk to you in about an hour?

Hey, I got it handled now. I changed index.html to default.html and it worked. Then I changed it back to index.html. Weird... thanks for your man.
