My sites title in the header appears perfectly fine on desktops. But when I view my site on a mobile device, its title gets cut off and full title does not appear on a mobile device.

I sent an email to the theme support people. They replied me back on email & sent in the email a bunch of codes and advised me to substitute these codes with a bunch of existing codes in my theme's css file.

I have never attempted any change in the purchased themes earlier. I am new to this kind of things.

Please advise me the right approach / process to do it. I just want to be careful before I go ahead and change the codes in the css file.

Thanks...............

Can't really get too specific since no specifics were posted. But, there are 2 ways you can go.

    1. Contact them again, tell them you haven't modified css before, and ask them if they can update the theme and send you the completed version. Then you can just use the updated version. If this is a paid theme, they should do this. They would also test it out to be sure it works.

    If that doesn't work then...

    2. Make a full backup of your css file(s). Anything that you will modify make a backup of it. Then you can either do the update to your live site, or create a temp page/site and test the changes out there. If it works, then update the main site. If I was doing it, I'd create a temp/backup site and test it out there first.

You need to take a backup of your current theme and upload it again. Or you can send request to theme company for make the site running perfectly. or you can hire someone to fix the issue for you.

As long as you backup the file's you edit, then you will be fine. I usually do a CTRL+A and CTRL+C just before I make an important edit. Then you have the offline backup as well as the code in your clipboard. It's not really necessary but give peace of mind.

If your asking how to actually edit the file we will need to know more about your site e.g. what CMS.

My advice is to take this opportunity and learn CSS properly. If you can afford it I would suggest the Lynda.com tutorials. I'm doing that right now and it's fantastic.
