Good Gallery Plugin For Wordpress?

Hi,

I have literally been trying different plugins for the last 8-12 hours and cannot find what I need. I basically just need a basic image gallery that say allows 50 pics per page. Then I want to add a link to each of these images.

But I also want to have a static wordpress post that stays above these images. Seems complex but its actually simple. Anyone know how I can do this? Thanks

    NextGen Gallery is the best if you ask me. It has many features you can use but also you can do a lot of custom work based on the existing code.
