I use and love Genesis framework for everything. I want to create a great landing page for the sole purpose of generating leads (no posts, nothing else to distract from the lead capture) If you know of a great Genesis child theme for landing pages please share here. Thanks!

First, let me tell you that I own the developer's package for genesis theme and they're AWESOME.

Second - I think just about *any* of the themes can create awesome landing pages...

The secret? Just make sure that you select "Landing" template when you publish a page.

(I literally have a boatload of themes currently utilized in my portfolio and ALL of the themes can have awesome landing pages).

TIP: Make sure to use H tags to effectively headline and document your work...

(In my opinion, just about any "landing" template will look great when combined with properly styled typography and maybe some CSS buttons/links).

Also, you might want to learn more about the CSS BUTTONS that look really beautiful with their themes....

If you need any more help feel free to ask.

    YES. I love studiopress.

    Stay cool

    EDIT:

Speaking of CSS buttons, there's a new plugin here Forget About Shortcode Buttons - Use visual buttons in your post editor | Designs & Code

Haven't used it, yet, but it looks good.

I would never use WP for landing pages, WP is just loading too much crap...

Good and fast landing pages should be HTML/CSS/JS only, no backend at all

I am concerned about overhead and loading times. I currently use Avada which is an amazing theme but my site is very slow to load and I know Avada uses a lot of animation and JS. Are Genesis themes well optimized for fast loading?

Of course I do realize there are things I need to do to keep resource usage low as well like optimizing images.

Hmm, looking into landing pages brought me here.

But the question of whether Wordpress should not be used for a landing page has stirred me up a little. Can I just create an HTML page and throw it in to the front end?

Here is where I am at with Genesis and the Lovely theme. Currently tweaking so it keeps changing.

Should I leave it alone? Thoughts?

          Thanks.

          Hugh

WahmJennie - I had the same problem as you, exactly the same. I love Genesis and everything it does but wasn't really happy with the appearance of the landing pages for our sites.

So, I decided to create my own custom landing/sales page template and it's what I use everyday for all of our sites. Now I get people asking me all the time where I got the templates.

I wrote a blog post that explains how I created them and it also includes the full code (CSS styles as well).

I hope this helps you and anyone else save some time and frustration:

Any Genesis child theme can have a landing page and it can be customized to how you want it, ie: footer only, header only or totally blank,
    and then add your content.

For IM Marketing I like Generate Pro

    Hello,

I have a News Pro theme and having an issue with the landing page functionality. I create my landing page and it works perfectly , the issue is when I select my landing page as my static home page (I want the visitors to see my landing page first) it still shows header and footer???

When I view the page without assigning it to the index page, it appears as I have created it.

    What can cause this issue?

    Many thanks...

Offhand I would guess you removed the header and footer with css but you have to specify them differently for a page that is your homepage. Firebug will provide the details for your site and theme.

My recollection may be a bit skimpy without looking back a bit, but you may be prevented by the genesis framework from using the landing page as a home page.

Try duplicating landing.php and give it another name or take fullpage.php and remove the header and footer, although I like to leave the footer for necessary links, and then select it in WP as the home page,

Give it a try and post back.
      Cheers

    Hey you!

I would suggest that you create your own landing page rather than installing a new landing page theme. I had this same problem and I realized that I could make a very effective and good-looking landing by using Visual Composer. You can find many tutorials and guides for Visual Composer. Just search Google for "Creating Landing Pages on WordPress Using Visual Composer"

Hope you will find it useful.
