Hello everyone. I am a major DIYer. I'm big on learning and creating my own masterpiece or at this point should I say preschool drawing

I have created a website that contains at the moment 24 pages. I am an absolute beginner in html and css but I've managed to put this site together and trust me you could probably tell.

Anyways, I have a list of features that I would like for the site to do that I know will contain PHP and MySQL. With my now fried brain from learning HTML and CSS, I'm wondering if I should plunge ahead or hire someone to finish the site for me. If you wouldn't mind, please take a look at my list and let me know your opinion and if you say hire could someone give me a price range of what it would cost.
  • Secure signup form with an email confirmation link
  • Login form with the "Forgot Password" feature
  • Account form that the user can edit their information and change their password
  • Show the user's name on the pages
  • Assign a referral id to the user
  • Show the referral id on the pages for the user to see
  • Embed the user's referral id into affiliate programs, banners & text links
  • Show the user's sponsor's name, phone number & email address
  • A sponsor be randomly chosen when a user is not directed by a sponsor already
  • Show the user's downline or prospects of referrals under them
  • Add the fill in forms for the affiliate programs such as username or affiliate id for that program
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

To your Success,
Anna

I think you have to follow your heart on this one.

It's a great thing when you pick up the skills that you need and don't have to be at the whim of someone else, and that must appeal to the DIY'er in you.

On the other hand, it's also a great thing when you actually get to the "finish line" (As if there is such a thing in IM!) or at least get profitable.

The bottom line is that there are only so many hours in the day. What would you most enjoy doing with them?

I personally love learning new skills and am just striking out to put up my first website. I ALSO love puzzles and riddles, so I can't wait to start getting enough traffic so that I can start doing split testing and trying to figure out what sales techniques work best for me.

For me, there is a joy in doing it all myself, but when things start getting un-fun or there are diminishing returns on my time, I'm not above asking for help or buying a pre-packaged answer.

The trick is to pick your battles and put your personal attention behind the ones that are the most important to you.

    +1 to tina and PsiCat

it is better to pay a professional a little hundreds for the mean time, and along the way of your business you can learn those skills to create it your self..

and one more thing you can less the load of your server if you use some professional programs for your affiliate program.. beacause what i know they serve you using their own server.. (correct me if im wrong)

Thanks you guys! To be honest, I didn't even know there was such a thing as affiliate program software. How embarrassing is that! LOL I do love to do things on my own and just like psicat the feeling of accomplishment when it's all over is awesome. However, I'm getting pretty anxious to get this website up and running. Again, thanks for your replies.

Anyone who would like to recommend an affiliate program software or someone to hire, I'm all ears. In the meantime, I'm heading to google to research!
