Good evening all,

I am brand new here and just registered my first domain name. I am looking for FREE website templates that are easy and fun to edit so I can have my first web page up.

Please let me know what you think, I would love to hear from you.

Erin

I like word press themes. I have also heard wix is pretty good but I have not tried them yet.

I pretty much endorse the theme "Responsive" whenever I can. Fully optimized for mobile viewing, will work with Woocommerce if you're doing e-commerce, easy to edit from the WP backend. Wish I could suggest another but Responsive has seriously been it for me lately, I can customize the theme (or make a child-theme of it) if I need to radically change the way it looks but that's rare. The theme structure is perfect as it is.

In my opinion it is worth to buy theme instead of using free one.
You will stand out from crowd and investment is really small comparing to benefits you get.

Some free ones are good ... just Google your niche + free wordpress themes. There are always 50 Best real estate, business themes articles.

I'd suggest, instead of paying for a theme, purchase a club membership. You can usually get a 4mo - 1 year membership for the same price as 1 template.

You can download all their previous themes and any new themes that come out within your membership. This is extremely helpful when you add more domains or change your mind every other day like me.

I personally like Gavick and Tesla Themes.

You can access many free themes inside wordpress, but I would not recommend free themes. If you look on themeforest you can find cheap themes that are very good, in many cases only about $20.

Neither would I, if I were selling premium themes.

Being able to work with a quality responsive FREE WP theme and learn to modify it to your needs, as well as installing easy slideshow plugins and learning to do things like editing the Header.php from the WP-backend (Appearance->Editor) will bring a person so much further than plopping down $50 everytime they need to accomplish simple things like custom backgrounds, font theming, adding new content panels etc.

I can't in good conscience recommend premium themes to even novices. Everyone should learn to develop in WP. Or at the very least, just pay someone like me to go the extra mile if you have the money to throw away on premium themes jk.

I used to use Woo Themes a lot, they were good in their day.

Now I'm doing more custom built sites and the bootstrap is great for this. There are some wonderous jQuery plugins you can get these days. I guess this is a little technical, but the web is really growing up rapidly now and websites need some major investment if they're to make serious money. If you want any proof then see what's happening with the WF itself.

For fun and easy to use you can use wix.com and weebly.com. You have an option to use your own domain with them.

Wordpress is also a good option but is not always so easy to use in case you are a beginner.

Don't use wix or weebly sites like that will never get any organic traffic from search engines.

Try finding just one of those free sites on the first page of google... it aint gonna happen, not into todays internet!

I disagree with using a paid theme when getting starting as paying out money and expecting to recoup costs fast can leave people deflated when it doesn't happen.

Best thing to do is just get started, pick a free theme even if its not perfect and go for it.

Start adding your content and maintain the site, once you have visits and make some small ad revenue, that is if your blogging? Then you can look at upgrading to a new theme, fancy logo and so on.

It doesn't matter how many articles you have on your site a decent website developer will help you move everything to a better looking site.

But like I said the important thing is getting started as most people end up having half a dozen half completed sites that are going no where!

    Good luck,

If you're still beginner, just go with the free one to learn. I suggest you to go with wordpress. if you still unfamiliar with it, try to learn from wordpressorg, codexwordpressorg, wptuts, wpbeginner, codexcoder, wordpresstv and so many resources.
And there are so many best free wordpress themes that you can tweak easily outhere. Just try to googling it instead of ask in this forum.

I am going to say the Mystile theme.. its responsive, very much customizable, your basic average layout. and don't let the out of the box design discourage you. It is really amazing what can be done with that theme. look at uploadwp.com you will see a good amount of support for that theme as well. they kind of have Mystile covered!

Hey, welcome to warrior forums, I would recommend you to design your themes as per your needs if you do not get any free themes. You can design your own themes using designing softwares such as WIX, TemplateToaster, Weeblly, Dreamweaver etc.
